Housing Authority for the City of Hoboken Redevelopment Plan wins 2024 Smart Growth Award

Last week, New Jersey Future announced the winners of the 2024 Smart Growth Awards. We’re proud to congratulate the City of Hoboken, the Housing Authority of the City of Hoboken, and our entire project team - WRT, Arup, and Execu-Tech - for being one of six projects to receive such award this year for the Housing Authority of the City of Hoboken Redevelopment Plan!

The planning efforts for this project built on prior work with the Housing Authority that HGA undertook with several partners beginning in 2021 when a strategic plan for the Housing Authority’s properties was development. The Redevelopment Plan, which was adopted by the City in December 2023, will provide for the replacement of over 1,300 units with safer and healthier affordable housing opportunities for residents.

The Plan additionally enhances flood resilience, establishes dedicated walking and bicycling connections to the broader City network, and expands the City’s street grid further into the Redevelopment Area to better integrate the buildings with the fabric of Hoboken.
