WHO WE ARE

Heyer, Gruel & Associates was founded in 1970 and has grown into one of New Jersey’s premier community planning firms. We are proud to work with public and private clients throughout the state on a wide variety of projects. Along with providing consulting services to our active client base, members of the firm are actively involved in other professional endeavors, including teaching at Rutgers University, participating in professional seminars and training sessions, and contributing to publications in the field. 

At present, the firm is engaged in planning work in the State's major urban centers, rural areas, and a wide variety of municipalities in between. Our engagement with communities of all sizes and personalities, along with multi-jurisdictional planning efforts with County and Regional partners, demonstrates the versatility of the firm.

In addition to providing award-winning services to our municipal clients, we have also forged successful, long-standing partnerships with clients in the private sector. Our relationships with our clients are a testament to the knowledge and hard work that the firm is proud to stand behind. 

Community planning has evolved since the inception of the firm, and our expertise has grown with the profession. The firm specializes in community outreach and public participation, which we feel are the backbone of successful, consensus driven plans.
